You Aint Nothin But A Hounddog

Happy Hump Day all!

Confession time, I didn’t know there was anything such as dogstooth.  I’m assuming its the  half-brother/sister of houndstooth being that the latter gets all the attention. Either way, when I saw this dogstooth pencil skirt on Simply Be’s website with 50% off, I had to make it mine.  Pairing the skirt with red seemed like a natural choice although  I could see myself wearing a cobalt blue with it in the future.   I wanted to add some  “edge” up my look so I wore my faux leather jacket from Kohls to “toughen” it up  (Me tough?! Ha! I still sleep with a night light! ). If the jacket looks familiar to you, I wore the green one here.  Lets just say, I’m slightly enamored with the jacket  🙂

I want to thank all of  you for your wonderful and encouraging  comments on my previous post “Change is Gonna Come”.  This might sound a little corny, but I feel closer to you ladies after reading your responses.  Again thank you for being the BEST readers in the world!!!

Are you a fan of dogs/houndstooth?

Have a great evening!

  1. You look so nice!!! enough to cause me to de-lurk 🙂 dogstooth skirt is gorge!!! and I really really really like those bandolino wedges!!! unfortunately I’m not about the us-uk shipping prices 🙂
    Love your blog lots!!!!

  2. I love houndstooth! It’s my favorite print. I’m pretty sure dogstooth is just what they call it in England.

I bought a houndstooth cardigan at Target a few weeks ago and I’ve paired it with plum, olive, and a small floral print. It’s so versatile!

I may need to stock up on a few more pieces while it’s trendy and easy to find 🙂

    You look fab!

  3. I love houndstooth/dogstooth and you’re really rocking it! Also birdseye, herringbone, gingham and seersucker; the textural weaves and prints usually call to me. The problem for me, is that my coloring is so medium that I feel overwhelmed by high-contrast colors. The black/white dogstooth looks awesome on you, however, and I love the red blouse. Thanks for the inspiration. I love seeing full-figured women who dress stylishly. You’re so chic!

    • Thank you! Yes I went to the PR event. It was really good to mingle & network with other bloggers who are not just into fashion. Ive never been to Xfinity Live, but I plan to go back soon. It was a great venue. Everyone was very nice and approachable. They had a raffle and I won a free car service..woo hoo!
